TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

EXCEPTED ONCE SALES TICKET IS COMPLETED & SIGNED FOR

 

In addition to the General Terms and the Supplementary Terms, the following terms apply only to wedding dresses and where any of the Wedding Dress Terms conflict with the General Terms, the Wedding Dress Terms shall prevail.

In the event of any loss or damage to your wedding dress while in our care, our liability is limited to 10 times the value of the wedding dress cleaning price & you the customer understand & accept the problems noted may result in damage or deterioration & fully authorise cleaning & accept any such consequences & if Copnor cleaners Ltd are at fault then you accept that no claim or settlement will exceed the above 10 x value of the clean price.

Buttons, Embellishments and Sequins / Appliques / Glitter effects are cleaned at your risk due to their delicate nature. In addition, it may not be possible to dry-clean buttons, embellishments or sequins even if the dress’ label states otherwise & we take no responsibility for missing - broken buttons - embellishments / appliqués & they must be able to take the mechanical action of the cleaning process / cleaning chemicals used & be fit for purpose either through their manufacture or their robustness in regards to the stitching - sewing /  manufacture & colour fastness either wet or dry cleaned etc - Essentially you need to ensure the textile & the embellishments / appliqués are robust & fit for purpose , Quite often appliqués & embellishments are added at a later date by the fashion house / seamstress  & it’s been known they use two different types of appliques & this results in quality issues namely colour difference which  becomes only apparent after cleaning & only in certain lights.

All silks & fine textiles are cleaned at your risk due to the unstable nature of the fabric either through shrinkage or staining that will not come out or due to poor quality fabrics.

We take no lability for colour runs – fades / transfer – colour washing out as these are manufacturing faults and are the responsibility of the manufacturer – fashion house. Where a dress has been altered with other fabrics, this invalidates the care label & we take no liability for this.

All staining & marks will be treated, but we cannot guarantee 100 % removal of all stains / marks.

​

We have a policy of only taking a wedding dress and we are not responsible for any bags or other items left with us if they are lost or damaged. Please take all other items with you when depositing your wedding dress.

​

We cannot insure against or accept liability for shrinkage of your dress due to many wedding dresses suffering from excessive water and stain damage during the wedding day and in particular silk & fine fabrics are prone to this and your use our services are subject to this condition that we will not be liable under any circumstances.

All wedding dresses are wet cleaned (i.e., washed) regardless of care label instructions using a specialist wet wash system & specialist wet wash chemicals & specific specialist wet wash cycles specifically designed for this purpose & you the customer understand that in doing so any or all of the potential problems highlighted in these terms & conditions noted may result in damage or deterioration & fully authorise Copnor cleaners ltd cleaning & accept any such consequences as signed for on the Master sales ticket held by Copnor cleaners Ltd.

All claims for damaged or missing items must be made verbally in store within 48 hours after collection from our shop or delivery via email.

All veils are cleaned at owners’ risk & in particular the plastic broches etc & all wedding dress terms & conditions apply to veils well.

All hangers -dress bags are not to be left in store & if they are we accept no liability for these in our care either in way of damage or loss & you fully accept these terms.

All Bodices are cleaned at owners’ risk due to - in most cases no care labels & as per veils & all wedding dress terms & conditions apply to veils well & you fully accept these terms.

Wedding dress cleaning prices are for one clean & one stain treatment, If further cleans are needed or requested a second re clean price may be charged.

Staining / marks will be treated if safe to do so - There are no guarantees staining can be removed & we can only treat if safe do so. We do not highlight. 

remaining staining - but may verbally advise upon collection or advise through communication ticket if twice cleaned or customer advise note.

All wedding dresses cleaned must conform to British standard care label instructions & if they do not or have no care label, we clean strictly at owner’s risk.

Wedding dresses that have glitter applied to the wedding dress are highly unstable & usually added on by the manufacturer – fashion house – sales shop – owner – seamstress to name a few.

All wedding dresses that are steamed are at owner risk & we accept no liability for pre-existing marks or marks hat appear whilst steaming.

All wedding dresses that are steamed / press only generally will have various marks & built up dirt from experience from where they have been kept in showrooms & tried on many times by various customers & even seamstresses that have altered the dresses can all add to pre-existing marks & dirt due to this all wedding dresses bought in for steam only are steamed at owners risk , with the express understanding it’s better to clean the dress prior to the wedding day , as even marks from manufacturing & the wholesale houses can be apparent once we start to steam the dress . We will record marks & dirt on the due diligence notes at the end of steaming for our own records. we always recommend cleaning first, by signing the master sales docket you fully accept these terms & I the customer understand & accept the problems noted may result in damage or deterioration & fully authorise steaming / pressing & accept any such consequences.

A new trend is to apply glitter to various parts of the dress & in most instances is added by the fashion house – customer – seamstress – manufacturer to name a few , glitter is highly unstable & unfortunately many entity’s as above use spray on glitter that is not fit for purpose & will without any doubt come off in the cleaning process regardless of how cleaned , some glitters manufacturing is better than others i.e. heat sealed glitter probably applied by roller & may be more durable , either way glitter must be taken as a given that it will damage – disintegrate – become patchy or simply just fall off during the cleaning process that involves water – chemicals – mechanical action that will without any doubt cause damage as highlighted above & as the customer you are fully aware of the above problems & risks & that the glitter will quite likely react as above.
